Romantic White Wedding in Greenpoint, Brooklyn

The bride and groom, Sylwia and Adam, had a clean, simple, and tasteful vision for their ceremony and celebration, which was held at The Inn At New Hyde Park.

The ceremony took place at St. Cyril and Methodious Church in Greenpoint. We decorated the church with TONS of baby's breath, both lining the aisle and also at the alter area. The aisle was also draped with ribbons between the baby's breath bunches. It made for a very festive and cute look.

The bridal bouquet was made of clusters of white roses, ranunculus, cymbidium and dendrobium orchids. It all came together to look very sweet and even as if it was made of tons of little butterflies. The Bridesmaid bouquets were darker magenta toned, along with a mix of boutonieres and corsages.

The bushels of baby's breath just foreshadowed what was to come later at the reception: extra large and extra tall globes of white hygrangeas with their extra tall glass trumpet vases!  These table centerpieces of exclusively white hydrangeas communicated a choice and commitment to elegant taste that everyone could relate to.  It was like having a larger-than-life, fairytale hydrangea tree on each table!  We also placed small vases of single white hydrangeas around the bottom of the tall centerpieces, followed by interspersing white candles in slim and sleek glass holders among them.  It was a beautiful and modern interpretation of the traditional wedding color of white!

Congratulations, Sylwia and Adam, and best wishes!

xx

Green, Green, and More Green

Cymbidium orchids, hydrangea, and fiesta roses were the featured flowers for this sleek, simple, and modern look at MyMoon in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.  Table "numbers" were each a different country that the couple had visited together and the table runners were made by a family friend!

Each table was adorned with an low arrangement in a rectangular or a square glass vase depending on table size.  Longer tables were accompanied by smaller, clear glass bubble vases of a single Cymbidium orchid with dark pebbles and brighter green accenting flowers.  There were lots of white taper candles and raised white votive candles.  The whole look conjured up a zen-like theme and one guest described it as, "clean, crisp, with lots of candlelight".

Like the centerpieces, the bridal bouquet was all green of the same florals, but with some gorgeous green amaranths.

The ceremony site was decorated with hanging vases and two glass lanterns with big white candles and green hydrangeas surrounding them on the bottom!

The all-green aesthetic, particularly with these florals, was both calming and breathtaking!  I just love the look we ended up with and was so happy to share it with such wonderful people!

A Bit of Distressed Elegance...

Max and Gab celebrated the ten years of being together with a charmed wedding at The Foundry in Long Island City, Queens. The space was filled with hundreds of candles, lots of mercury glass and lush overflowing flowers in various containers.  Bloom colors were mainly a ruby red grapefruit and a raspberry pink that popped against the grey and champagne table cloths.  Greyish-green and soft dusty miller served as the foliage in the arrangements, which made for an enchanting fairytale feel!  The surrounding ivy-covered brick towers and structures of The Foundry  made the whole scene come alive as a make-believe world!

The blooms themselves were garden roses, dahlias, coxcomb, ranunculus, fiesta roses, spray roses, dusty miller, sedum, and rosehips ;).  They made up the the large centerpieces, bud vases, the bride's wreath, and bridemaids' hairpieces! The family of the happy couple

The reception took place outside on the Foundry's patio under a clear top tent. Max and Gab had the most amazing night...the weather was just perfection and the wind even calmed down just in time for the festivities to begin. As the sun set, the whole space took on a dream-like glow.

In leu of bouquets, the Bride and her ladies wore hair flowers in various shapes and sizes. The Bride's wreath was a delicate blend of branches, spray roses, wax flowers and rosehips.

Red rose and rosehip wreath. Rosehip Social, Brooklyn, NY.

What a stunning celebration, Max and Gab!

Best wishes!

Classic and glittery

With picturesque views of Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge from the outside and inside space, Giando's on the Water is situated for a very New York wedding.  The big windows and chandeliers further added to this experience, as did the florals!  They were clean and classic: whites of hydrangea, lisianthus, and roses with deep purple shades of calla lilies and anemones as accents.  This classic aesthetic was textured with leaves of dusty miller and eucalyptus adding a hint of garden-inspired looseness.

The bride is an absolute DIY hero! She made glitter covered votives, table numbers, cocktail hour votives, and assembled her own mirror glass vases!

Congratulations on your beautiful and festive celebration, Kelly and John!

Desert and Candlelight at the Liberty Warehouse

Rachel and Stephen's revolving cocktail hour reception exuded a light, easy and party filled atmosphere!

The Bride and Groom were interested in incorporating elements of their Mexican and Jewish heritage in the decor and styling for their wedding and reception at the Liberty Warehouse. The ceremony was complete with a chuppah hand-built by the father of the bride and white Papel Picado criss-crossed the warehouse ceiling.  The florals were composed of a desert palette of subdued oranges, yellows, and pinks with succulents popping up everywhere and even dotting the bouquets. We played up this look by adding tons of pillar and votive candles.  Set off by shimmering gold accents on votive candles, vases, frames and various details, the ambiance was warm and luminescent.

Faded blush-pink toned linen runners (hand-dyed using veggies and beets!) were laid down the center of the long rectangular tables.  We then filled the table using a mix of candles, bud vases and succulents in various sized vases, some with hand-painted gold trim. The succulents and candles were surrounded by various types of beans, including pinto, lima and navy beans (which are surprisingly white)! For some of the round tables, we used a mix of orange dahlias, various shades of roses, cockscomb, slate blue thistle and succulents in clear glass vases.

The combination of the pale light tones with the gold accent made for a fun and stylish tablescape. It was such a fun wedding to work on!

Congrats Rachel and Stephen on your beautiful celebration!

Summer Flowers Wedding in the Catskills

"Summer in a bouquet!"

Dahlias, roses, ranunculi, garden roses, anemones and wildflowers brightly adorned the colonial Feast at Round Hill site in Washingtonville, New York!  Pinks, purples, reds, and yellows were used for this stylized wildflower look. Each table was filled with a mix of fun and interesting bud vases, which were filled with a mix of brightly colored flowers and lush overflowing greens.

For their ceremony area, Rachel and Nick chose to stand in a bright-toned ombre rose petal circle, with an ancient tree in the background, and surrounded by loving family and friends. The rose petals took on an almost magical feeling in the beautiful garden on this gorgeous late Summer afternoon.

The sunny, effortless, and natural vibe ensured that it all came together beautifully and reflected the couple's personal styles.

Congratulations to the Bride and Groom, and to their whole lovely family!

xoxo

Katie and Tony's Green White and Gold Wedding at MyMoon in Brooklyn

Katie and Tony were interested in bringing a garden fresh look into the MyMoon reception space.

We decorated the long wooden tables with gold toned ceramic vases filled with lots of white, ivory and green blooms, along with tons of lush and overflowing greenery, berries and poppy seed pods. We were also able to incorporate mint and hostas from our own garden! The gold toned vases and rust colored lanterns looked great against MyMoon's brick and brass interior.

Each long tables was also decorated with custom crisp white linen runner, which helped to brighten the look of the tablescapes, and helped to make the whole table glow!

For Katie's bridal bouquet, we used a mix of late season white peonies and white dahlias, accented with green hypericum berries, scabiosa, jasmine and various greens. Instead of using ribbon, we wrapped her bouquet in a gold toned wire. So fun!

It all came together wonderfully and the venue had a slight fresh perfume of flowers and mint!  Congrats to Katie, Tony and their entire families!

Tracy & Bryan's Wedding at Music Hall of Williamsburg

Tracy and Bryan threw one heck of a party at the Music Hall of Williamsburg! The atmosphere was colorful, glittery and happy! The couple designed and made a ton of the decorations themselves...quite the crafters! They collected the vases, votives, decorative details...they made the pennants, tassels and confetti! Everything combined made for a fun and festive atmosphere!

We combined white and blush pink tones with bright and vibrant pinks and greens. All the blooms were put into various gold and black ceramic vases.  Deep red blooms, black tablecloths, and the dark atmosphere completed the approach with a romantic note and created a playful, fun, and funky feel!

The men's boutineers were a mismatched collection of ranunculus with wax flower and hypericum berry accents. Each was wrapped with various black and white ribbons, while the Groom got a gold sequined ribbon that matched the Bride bouquet wrap.

It was such a unique and festive celebration with flair and pizzazz!  Thanks, Tracy and Bryan!  What a creative and super fun wedding!

Jackie and Ross' Wedding at MyMoon

Jackie and Ross knew exactly what they wanted: tiger lilies! The Bride always loved the flower, and we can understand why. Tiger lilies are bright, interesting and a lush and large flower.

The bright orange blooms also complimented MyMoon's brassy and rustic decor. We placed the flowers in brass-toned vases and trays. Keeping the flowers below 1 foot tall so that there would be no obscured views for the guests at each table.

The tablescape was also accented with antiqued lanterns, votive candles and custom-made silk taffeta table runners. The slightly reflective vases and silk runners had a great glow by candlelight.

Jackie's bridal bouquet was made with all orange tiger lilies, while the bridesmaid received a hued mix of lilies.

The bar arrangement featured large tropical leaves and birds of paradise flowers. Ross grew up in Spain, and had fond memories of seeing those flowers in the family garden. The tall bar arrangements looked fab in the phenomenally tall MyMoon interior.

Jackie and Ross were a pleasure to work with, and they were so happy to celebrate with their families and friends!

Terrarium Party!

What better way to kick the winter blues away...than building a gorgeous, vibrant and plant filled terrarium!?!

Deena hosted a birthday celebration for a lucky friend in her Westchester home, and we had a blast teaching the fun ladies the ins-and-outs of terrarium building.

Did you know that terrariums gained great popularity during the Victorian era of scientific research and exploration? Scientists used them as a way to transport and study plants, insects and other critters. Terrariums can be almost any size and assembled using a slew of different container types and sizes. We used a tapered open-top container that works well for both wet-plants and dry-succulent environments.

For Deena's party, each guest got a chance to choose from a variety of plants, orchids, colored stones and little accent figurines. Each terrarium turned out differently, showing the personality and style of the creators, and will hopefully bring months of enjoyment.

When making your own, be sure to pay attention to the water and light requirements of the plants that are going inside.

The terrarium building party was a blast! What a fun way to celebrate a birthday!

xoxo,

Pola

Plum and Lavender Winter Blooms

Just sharing a few snaps of a lovely "Thank You" arrangement ordered by Ms. Laura, and just wanted to share it with everyone...because in this cold tundra of snowbanks and frozen street garbage...it made us think of the warm Spring months...coming soon?

Purple and grey bouquet

We used plumb and merlot toned ranunculus, lavender "Amnesia" roses, jasmine, anemones, dusty miller, eucalyptus and other exciting blooms.

Hope it brightened up the recipient's day!

Haj and Josh's Wedding at Midtown Loft NYC

Haj and Josh had a lovely ceremony and reception at the fantastic Midtown Loft wedding space. The room is large, lofty and full or light, while the rooftop terrace was the perfect backdrop for a NYC wedding ceremony.

Haj and Josh selected a cool toned autumnal flowers, which included merlot colored dahlias, dark purple hydrangea, golden spider mum and other interesting seasonal blooms. The flower arrangements also featured fantastic succulents, which were collected by the Mother of the Groom in California. She brought them as a carry-on for the cross-country flight, and we were so happy to be able to use them in centerpieces, cake decoration, bouquets and even the boutonnieres!

For the centerpieces, we used mercury glass bubble bowls, and accented them with silvery mercury glass votive candles. We added silvery dusty miller foliage to coordinate with the light grey linens and overall color scheme of the wedding decor.

The wedding was catered by the fantastic Mukti from Five Spice Catering, and the planner Kristoffer was fantastic to work with as well.

Here are a few pictures from the professionals, Everly Studios Photography...check out their great blog post about the wedding!

Congrats to the happy couple!

Rachel and Ben Wedding at Brooklyn Winery

We loved working with Rachel and Ben on their easy going and fun wedding. Both the ceremony and reception were held at the Brooklyn Winery in Williamsburg.

The venue has great architectural details and massive sky lights that flood the space with lots of light. The back of the reception space is lined with large task of fermenting wine and barrels both functioning and decorative.

Rachel was interested in using seasonal and local wildflowers to the extent possible. We were able to get most of our flowers from a local Rockland County farm and some even from our own Brooklyn back garden.

The mason jars were filled with a mix of wildflowers, daisies, aster, castor bean, spray roses, roses, golden rod, blue thistle, scabiosa, wax flower, grass seed pods, dahlias and queen ann's lace.

Rachel's bouquet included dahlias, roses, sedum, lisianthum, ranunculus, scabiosa, hypericum berries, dusty miller and lambs ears.

Rachel and Ben were the sweetest, and just lovely to work with. Congrats to these two.

Wythe Hotel Cellar Dinner Party

Williamsburg locals Lydia and Jon chose the private dining room at the Wythe Hotel to host their rehearsal dinner celebration.

The room has a great wine cellar feelto it, with amazing chandeliers and an interesting tile floor. To play into the inherent romance of the space, Lydia and Jon chose vividly colored lush flower arrangements, accented with taper candles and votives.

We used cobalt blue chalice style vases, and filled them with lush and overflowing blooms in bright shades of orange, pink, purple, blue and green. We included roses, prothea, hydreagea, scabiosa. We accented the flowers with various berries and greens from our very own Rosehip garden!

The Wythe was fabulous as always, and we hear it was a great dinner party!

Congrats!

Lydia and Jon's Wedding at Tuffet in Williamsburg

Lydia and Jon chose to stay close to home for their intimate wedding ceremony and reception. The Williamsburg couple got ready at The Wythe Hotel (which also hosted their rehearsal dinner...separate blog post coming soon), and chose the cute Tuffet Bar as their ceremony and reception venue.

Lydia and Jon loved the black and white decor at Tuffet, and wanted bright and textured flowers to add pops of color to the venue. We came up with a fun deign which included vintage bud vases and containers made from colored glass and metal. The flowers included local dahlias and berries, greens and hydrangea from our Rosehip back garden. We were also able to get our hands on some gorgeous orange garden roses, rononculus, succulents and crispedia, which added the perfect late-summer feel to the space. The bud vase arrangements worked well with the cocktail style reception and didn't take up too much of the valuable table space.

Lydia's bridal bouquet featured a textured and lush mix of late summer dahlias, organogenesis garden roses, spray roses, yellow yarrow, orange ranunculus, succulents, prothea and accents of dusty miller and eucalyptus. It was tied with a delicate grey ribbon.

The bridesmaids chose between hair flowers, wreaths or lapel corsages. The bright flowers complimented their different grey toned dresses.

The boutonnières for the gentlemen were all slightly different and featured orange ranunculus, spray roses, sedum, dusty miller and eucalyptus seeds and leaves. All were tied with grey ribbon, which coordinates with their grey toned suits.

The ceremony was officiated by the couples close friend and took place in the Tuffet back garden. We made extra tall arrangements to define the ceremony space and add a fun pop of color to the white and ivy covered wall.

In leu of a traditional wedding cake, the couple served delicious pies from another local favorite, Blue Stove...yum!

Congrats to the happy couple and can't wait to see them around the neighborhood!

Frances and James' Wedding at MyMoon

I met Frances and James while setting up for another wedding at MyMoon restaurant. They were checking out the venue with their family...they liked the flowers we were putting our...the stars aligned...and about a year later I was able to make some gorgeous arrangements for this happy couple.

Frances and James were inspired by their wedding invitation, which was a pastel toned travel ticket themed.

Photos courtesy of Joyeuse Photography.

For the flowers, the couple was interested in light, romantic and interesting flowers and berries. We were able to get fabulous giant blush pink dahlias, peach garden roses, ranunculus, spray roses, freesia and accents of hypericum berries and castor beans.

Photos courtesy of Joyeuse Photography.

We were able to use fabulous finds from flea markets and antique auctions, including milk glass and copper vases, a wildly printed mint green tray, vintage ribbons, and vintage bud vases.

The gold accents played nicely with MyMoon's gold and brass decor.

It was also a pleasure to work with Tahni from Joyeuse Photography, and a million thanks for the beyond gorgeous photos!
